MARK PASCALL

Director, 3months.com

Mark spent most of his early career as a software nerd. After many years working on high profile web software projects all over the world he began to wonder why most of them were failing and weren’t much fun (he began to get a bit of a complex). In 2000, just after the dot com crash (which had nothing to do with him), he took some time out and realised everybody elses projects were also failing. Somewhat naively he decided it would be a good time to start a software development business that challenged the status quo – web software projects could be creative, fun and deliver business value quickly. 15 years later 3months.com has built up an amazing team of people in Wellington and Auckland who have been quietly building complex web/mobile software using Agile/Lean practices for some great clients all over the world.

As director of 3months Mark has had the pleasure of working with many big name clients including Saatchi & Saatchi LA, National Library, Consumer NZ, Deloitte and Transpower as well as a host of entrepreneurs with disruptive ideas.

Mark has a passion for helping business people understand how new emerging technologies can help them achieve business goals. During his career he has presented at over 30 conferences on topic including Agile Marketing, Mobile Development, Doing business in the Cloud, iBeacons, API’s, Web Accessibility, Internet of Things and Bitcoin. He has also had numerous articles published including “Public sector software procurement: why it’s still broken” (NBR), “The Changing role of the CIO: a vendor perspective” (IITP) and “Outsourcing Agile – can it be done?” (Computerworld).
